Therapy Groups

Over the course of the year, Florissa offers several types of group therapy to build skills to address a range of difficulties children and their families may be experiencing. These groups are based on research-supported interventions that bring about positive change and development. All of the groups are conducted by experienced service facilitators who provide a safe, comfortable environment in which group members can share their experiences, learn from one another, and practice what they are learning.

Typical group offerings include: social skills groups that focus on developing the skills needed to build and maintain friendships; anxiety and depression groups that help children and teens learn skills to reduce their stress, and cope with overwhelming emotions that can affect their daily functioning; and parenting groups that focus on how to best manage your child’s symptoms and provide support for their development.
