LEARNING OBJECTIVES
This workshop will provide parents and professionals with strategies for developing a toilet training program for home or school settings. At the end of the workshop participants will know how to implement a toileting program. Specific topics to be addressed include: emotional, communicative and developmental issues, rewards, toileting chairs, toileting readiness, urine training, and bowel training. Additionally, we will also focus on overcoming some of the most difficult problems when toilet training children with autism and other developmental disabilities, as well as typical children.
PRESENTER CREDENTIALS
Meet Patti Boheme M.S., LCPC
Patti Boheme is the Executive Vice President of the Little Friends Center for autism. She has been providing services for people with Autism and other intellectual developmental disabilities for over 35 years. Patti has led the development of several service models for children and adults with Autismandis knowledgeable in techniques such as PECS, ABA, Social Cognition and Structured Teaching Patti has authored several visual training systems that are used to teach individuals with autism throughout the country. Patti believes in empowering parents. She consults and speaks regularly throughout the state at conferences and serves on several professional advisory boards.
